Hello everyone! It is Ian Robb and today I am going to be breaking down why Charizard EX Pidgeot EX is the best deck in format and tips and tricks for every single matchup.

Why is Charizard EX Pidgeot EX the best deck in format?

There is multiple reasons why Charizard EX Pidgeot EX is the best deck but the biggest reason why is Pidgeot EX. Being able to search your deck for any card every single turn of the game will create a board advantage from having access to the correct card every single turn. Along with having this powerful card selection, Charizard EX is one of the best attackers currently in the game. Being able to have an attacker that improves as the game continues on is something that not many decks have. Along with this, it has another one of the best attackers in the format, Radiant Charizard. Radiant Charizard is one of the best 1 prize attackers the game has ever seen. Being able to do 250-280 for only 1 energy is unique and allows you to get back into games that you never thought you could win. Even though all of these attackers are very powerful, another reason why the deck has great attackers is a 60 hp pokemon that does 30 damage.

Funnily the deck also has one of the best basic attackers for a stage 2 that the game has seen (in context of its format) Heat Tackle Charmander. 30 damage for 1 energy is actually very important in the current format. Being able to set up knockouts with Charizard EX by dealing an extra 30 to pokemon with 280 hp like Giratina VSTAR or 330 hp another Charizard EX makes it so that you can get a knockout 1 prize card earlier. It weirdly places a lot of pressure on other Charizard EX Pidgeot EX decks by making your opponent Boss’s Orders around the Charmander you want your opponent to knock out. This causes a significant amount of pressure on your opponent’s and is the final piece needed for a best deck in format. Now the weirdest part about the deck is to figure out the list. Now to get into it.
